Romantic Purple Smokey Eye Look This is a beautiful look that you can easily recreate for those date nights out with your significant other 🙂 I used the Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad in Amethyst Smokes. I love how the palette has written labels on each of the eyeshadows to help achieve the look. If you want to view my makeup tutorial video Click Here. Otherwise, keep reading for my personal instructions to see how I did the look 🙂
The first step in any eye look is to prime the eyes with a base. I used the Too Faced Shadow Insurance from Sephora. You can also use drugstore brands like Loreal’s Decrease and Elf’s Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. They all have the same effect; to hold the shadows on longer and make them more vibrant.
In Step 2 you want to apply a lid color. On the quad, the shimmery purple color to the top right labeled “lid” should be applied to just the lid. Try not to get the color in the crease, it will interfere with the crease color. You also may need to use a few layers of this to desired color pigmentation. I also applied this color to the lower lash line.
The next step is to accentuate the crease. Use the matte medium purple shadow in the entire crease. Make sure to blend out the edges of the lid color used before. Rather than using the black “liner” color as an eyeliner, I decided to apply it to the outer V. It helps darken up the look a bit more and create depth.
This step is optional, but I love to apply a light color to my brow bone. You could also use this color in the inner portion of the tear duct for brightness.
To finish off the eyes, use a felt tip eyeliner like Maybelline’s Line Stilleto in Black for a precise winged liner. I also used Mally’s Volumizing Mascara in Black on my bottom and top lashes (it’s my favorite!). Lastly, use a purple hued lipstick like Covergirl’s Lip Perfection Lipstick in Romance for that ultimate sexy/romantic look. That’s it ! I hope you all give it a try. Thanks for reading 🙂 Here is the finished look.
